Message from the Principal

Mrs. Long at 5th grade graduation at Denver Place in May 2018. Mrs. Long is thrilled to call Holmes home for the upcoming school year during the transition to grade level centers!
Welcome to Holmes Elementary School!

Holmes is a grade level center school that serves students in kindergarten, first and second grade students. In August, there will be approximately 574 students enrolled at Holmes. Holmes staff works hard to provide independent and collaborative educational experiences to develop and promote each student’s intellectual, physical, social and emotional growth. We work hard to meet the needs of all students and their families.

Our staff includes 28 classroom teachers, 2 intervention specialists, 4 Title reading specialist, 2 Title reading and math specialists, 1 art teacher, 1 music teacher, and 1 physical education teacher. Support services include a school guidance counselor, mental health therapist and case manager, behavioral specialist, speech therapist, and physical therapist.

Our children participate in a range of programs including:  art, music, physical education, media, character and career education. Each day our students are taught to model character, integrity and maturity through our PBIS programs as they strive to grow into productive citizens.

The staff at Holmes wants to partner with parents and the community. The relationships fostered between staff and families can positively impact learning and strengthens our school.  The staff at Holmes encourages everyone to take an active role in their students' education by communicating with the staff, attending school events, joining the PTO, and practicing skills with your student everyday. Working together helps our students accomplish so much!

Honoring Tradition. Building Community.  Educating for Tomorrow.

Mrs. Karen Long,
Principal
