Message from the Principal

Welcome to Holmes Elementary School, a building that serves students in Kindergarten through Fifth grades. There are approximately 500 students enrolled at Holmes. Our wonderful staff strives to have each child grow socially, emotionally and academically. Besides academics, our students attend art, music, physical education, library and computer lab each week. Support services include gifted education, special education, speech and language services, occupational therapy, physical therapy and counseling. The district also provides services via a school counselor, mental health therapist, math coach and reading intervention paraprofessional.

Parent involvement at Holmes Elementary School is essential. Parents can participate in their child’s education by volunteering in the classroom, attending PTO meetings or assisting with special events. We encourage every parent to get involved at least once each year. PTO meetings are held the first Wednesday of each month at 7 PM in the school library.

In addition to volunteering, communicating with classroom teachers regularly is one of the best ways to be involved with your child’s educational development. Remember if you have a question or concern, the classroom teacher is the place to start for answers. Talking early and often makes a difference in your child’s academic achievement.
Please feel free to contact me with your concerns or suggestions.

It's a great day to be a Hurricane!
