- OPEN HOUSES FOR PARENTS AND STUDENTS
Elementary Parents and students are invited to attend our Open House nights in May! You and your child(ren) will get a chance to see our elementary buildings and meet the teachers. Teachers for the 2018-19 will be at their new building so make sure to visit the school(s) your child(ren) will be attending in 2018-19.

Here’s the schedule for the 2018-2019 elementary buildings:
May 2 - East End (5th Grade) 5:00 - 8:00 p.m.
May 3 - Holmes (K, 1st, & 2nd) and Denver (3rd, 4th) 5:00 - 8:00 p.m.

KINDERGARTEN ORIENTATION
Kindergarten registration is well underway for next year's incoming students! We can’t wait to meet all of our kindergarten families at one of the orientation events at Holmes Elementary on May 7th for families (last names A-L) and May 15th (last names M-Z) starting at 6:30 pm. You're also invited to come to the Open House on May 3rd to see the building and meet the teachers.

STUDENT STEP-UP DAY
On May 21st our students will have a chance to visit other elementary buildings and see their new digs! Students that will be attending a new building in 2018-19 will be bussed to that building to spend the morning and eat lunch. They’ll be able to meet the teachers and staff, tour the building, and participate in activities to help them feel comfortable in a new building.

Reminder: This info went home with students a couple weeks ago, along with a transportation survey. You can also complete the survey online.

Change of Plans Ahead

posted Feb 13, 2018, 10:33 AM by Jennifer Swindler   [ updated Feb 13, 2018, 10:34 AM ]

change of plans for March 2
-Help us spread the word! March 2nd we were scheduled for a 2 hr late arrival, but that is being changed to an early dismissal. That is the same day we are hosting the SW Ohio District Wrestling Tournament in our Gym. Between 1 PM and 3 PM 2000-3000 fans, as well as 225 Wrestlers and Coaches, will be arriving for the 2 day event.

To avoid the traffic jam and problems getting buses and kids out after school, we will be changing the 2 hour late arrival to an early dismissal. Schools will start at their regular times. Please help us get the word out to all of our families as the date gets nearer.

3/2 WMS/WHS release time: 1:10 p.m.
3/2 Elementary release time: 2:15 p.m.

- Every day and on time is the goal!  Did you know that students who miss school in kindergarten and 1st grade mave have trouble reading by the end of third grade. Whether the absences are consecutive or not, excused or not, they add up quickly and can cause your child to fall behind their peers in school. You can learn more about the impact of attendance in elementary grades with the infographic* below by attendanceworks.org.
